There is another version of this quote (though the actual source has been attributed to Mark Twain, Confucius, Abraham Lincoln, and many others...click here for someone else's description of what happens when you try to research the other version of this quote's origin.) The other quote that happens to be one of my husband's favorites is:
"It is better to keep your mouth shut and have people think you are a fool than to open it and prove that you are a fool!"
