"I'd rather be hated for who I am then loved for who I am not."  Sarah Almeida

One evening an old Cherokee told his grandson about a battle that goes on inside all people.  He said, “My son, the battle is between two wolves that dwell inside each and everyone of us.  One is Evil.  It is anger, envy, jealousy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride, superiority and ego.  The other is Good.  It is joy, peace, love, hope, serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion and faith.”  The grandson thought about it for a minute, and then asked his grandfather:
“Which wolf will win ?”
The old Cherokee simply replied:
“The one you feed.”

I can't find an origin for this, but it can still share a great deal of thought to most any day...I know it does for me!

"Strike an average between what a woman thinks of her husband a month before she marries him and what she think of him a year afterward, and you will have the truth about him."  H.L. Mencken, "A Book of Burlesques"
"Wine comes in at the mouth
And love comes in at the eye;
That's all that we will know for truth
Before we grow old and die.
I lift the glass to my mouth,
I look at you and sigh."
