"Blessed are they that have the gift of making friends, for it is one of God's best gifts. It involves many things, but above all, the power of going out of one's self and appreciating whatever is noble and loving in another." Thomas Hughes

Watermelon Seeds

"Watermelons are amazing. Watermelon seeds are even more amazing. It takes 5-thousand watermelon seeds to weigh a pound and yet, just one of these seeds, warmed by the sun and fed by the rain is capable of making a watermelon weighing up to forty-pounds. It gathers 200,000 times it's own weight, adds several layers of different colors and comes out with a delicious watermelon. Who drew up this little seed plan? Where does it get it's tremendous strength? Until you can explain a watermelon do not set limits on the power of the Almighty.
If God can do all that with a tiny black seed, what can he do with you, his own child? Let him and help him make the best possible you! With his help, you can do anything. You can accomplish any task or reach any goal because of who you are...You are a Child of God!"

"The family.  We were a strange little band of characters trudging through life sharing diseases and toothpaste, coveting one another's desserts, hiding shampoo, borrowing money, locking each other out of our rooms, inflicting pain and kissing to heal it in the same instant, loving, laughing, defending, and trying to figure out the common thread that bound us all together."  Erma Bombeck

One evening an old Cherokee told his grandson about a battle that goes on inside all people.  He said, “My son, the battle is between two wolves that dwell inside each and everyone of us.  One is Evil.  It is anger, envy, jealousy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride, superiority and ego.  The other is Good.  It is joy, peace, love, hope, serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion and faith.”  The grandson thought about it for a minute, and then asked his grandfather:
“Which wolf will win ?”
The old Cherokee simply replied:
“The one you feed.”

I can't find an origin for this, but it can still share a great deal of thought to most any day...I know it does for me!
